Poppy — SF Pop-Up Tour

Social media promotional poster series

Poppy is coming to the Mission! As they gear up to open their brick & mortar space, the team coordinated a series of brunch pop-ups to showcase their food and engage with the community.

It was an honor to be asked to contribute not only the SF “Tour Poster” featuring all the locations, but also to design a map of each pop-up and a handful of site-specific promotional posters to be shared on Poppy’s website and social platforms.

The Process

The inspiration for these designs was the Bill Graham poster series of the 1960’s and early 1970’s. While artists and styles differed through the years, the designs shared a unique psychedelic energy with vibrant color combinations, wild illustrations and a LOT of beautiful typography.

I worked closely with Poppy’s founders to ensure these posters aligned with their vision, staying true to the mood board but with our own take.

Having always been drawn to the music and design from this period, as well as the Art Nouveau motifs that inspired much of the art, this was a special project to me. It was also wonderful to be featured alongside talented contemporary artists and designers.
